Live-In Services
As an alternative to hourly
care, Nurse Force also offers live-in care services.
Our Live-in care program assists clients who have minimal
nursing needs or safety issues in maintaining their independence
at home by providing custodial/companionship type services.
This is accomplished by providing a live-in aide or companion
who resides at the client's home. Live-in services can be
established for both long-term care arrangements or for
temporary situations, such as: respite care, special occasions,
and vacations (personal as well as for family and private
caregivers). Part-time live-in help is also available, from
one day a month to several days a week.
To determine if you or a
loved one have a situation and environment appropriate for
live-in care, a home care coordinator will visit with you
and your family. They will assess the client's home environment
and prepare a plan of care. Live-in care, while not appropriate
for everyone, is an affordable way of providing 24-hour
care to those who can not otherwise live independently.
As with hourly care,
live-in caregivers perform a variety of duties tailored
to the client's individual needs and wants, including:
- Bathing, grooming and dressing
- Assisting with elimination
- Assisting with walking and/or transferring
- Exercising/range of motion
- Reminding to take medications
- Planning and preparing meals
- Laundry and light housekeeping
- Reducing the possibility of falling in the home
- Redirection and reorientation when necessary
- Supervision and companionship
- Making sure bills/financial
obligations are reviewed and paid in a timely manner
- Running errands, such as to the grocery store and to
doctor appointments
- Taking care of the client's pets
- Maintaining a safe home environment
- Home Oxygen management
- Comfort and compassionate
care for post-operative individuals and those receiving
Hospice services
In addition, all live-in
care clients are managed by one of the home care coordinators,
who visit each client regularly. They can manage and administer
the client's medications, order refills and communicate
and/or coordinate care with the client's physician. They
frequently speak to family members, give updates, and problem
solve, in order to maintain the consistent high-quality
care our client's receive. In essence, they are the "eyes
and ears" for family members who sometimes live far away
from their loved one.
If you or a loved one are
