Hourly Nursing
Services
Over the years, Nurse
Force has provided hundreds of clients the opportunity to
remain in their own home with assistance. Without
our assistance, many of our clients would face either a
nursing home
placement, admission to a hospital or skilled facility,
or moving out of
their home to live with another relative or friend.
Whether you or a loved one
require assistance 4 hours or 24 hours a day, we are here
to help in any and every way possible. Unlike traditional
home health care agencies, YOU choose the days, number of
hours, and time of day that care is requested. To assist
you with determining your care needs, a home care coordinator
(RN) will visit with you and/or your family/friends free
of charge. This initial visit allows the client to become
familiar with our home care agency as well as assist the
home care coordinator to identify client needs, implement
a plan of action, choose appropriate caregivers, and coordinate
all aspects of care. Nurse Force prides itself on responding
to a care need efficiently and effectively, sometimes in
as little as a few hours from the initial call.
Nurse Force provides a variety
of levels of hourly caregivers, including registered and
licensed practical nurses, certified nursing aides, home
health aides, and companions. Our home
care coordinators can assist you in determining
what level of care is appropriate for your situation.
Regardless of the level necessary, all caregivers provide
basic duties, including:
- Bathing, grooming and
dressing
- Assisting with elimination
- Assisting with walking
and/or transferring
- Exercising/range of motion
- Reminding to take medication
- Planning and preparing
meals
- Laundry and light housekeeping
- Reducing the possibility
of falling in the home
- Redirection and reorientation
when necessary
- Supervision and companionship
- Making sure bills/financial
obligations are reviewed and paid in a timely manner
- Running errands, such
as to the grocery store and to doctor appointments
- Taking care of the client's
pets
- Maintaining a safe home
environment
In addition, many other specialized
duties are performed, depending on the individual situation
and/or level of care, such as:
- Ostomy care
- Ventilator care
- Intravenous medications
- Catheter care
- Skilled nursing care
- Home oxygen management
- Nebulizer treatments
- Mother/baby care
- Pediatric care
- Comfort and compassionate
care for post-operative individuals and those receiving
Hospice services
- Referrals for Physical,
Occupational, and Speech therapists
- Management of chronic
diseases, such as: diabetes, stroke, COPD, CHF, Alzheimer's
Disease, Parkinson's Disease, and arthritis
In addition, all hourly care
clients are managed by one of the home
care coordinators, who visit each client regularly.
In order to provide consistent, high quality care for our
clients, our home care coordinators can manage and administer
the client's medication, order refills, provide physicians
and family members with up-dates, and problem solve various
situations that may arise at the client’s home. In
essence, they are the "eyes and ears" for family
members, who sometimes live far away from their loved one.
While Nurse Force understands
our client's wishes to remain in their own home, we also
realize it is difficult to open your home to our caregivers.
That's why we strive to keep your routine and your home
as close to normal as possible; while at the same time ensure
your safety and well-being. Our caregivers are insured,
bonded, and carefully screened prior to placement. And,
unlike many area home health care agencies, many of our
employees are long-term employees who have a proven track
record. While we agree that minimal turnover is unavoidable
in today's society, we have been successful in maintaining
our goal of providing consistency and continuity of care.
Many employees have worked with the same client for four
years or more!
Nurse Force offers our
clients flexibility in scheduling the hours and days they
would like to receive care each week. We customize the care
plan and schedule to best meet their needs. Try us, and
you too will believe Nurse Force is "home care that
feels like family."
